Personal testimony: "I was raised in a pastor's home. My whole life centered around church and campmeetings. I had always been tender about the things of God. My whole desire was to be a Christian and serve Christ... but sometime during my freshman year of high school I found myself getting further away from God. I still wanted to be good and be a Christian, but I also wanted the world and my friends. I developed a "care less" attitude and thus began a rebellious time in my life. No, I didn't get into deep sin, but it was enough to scare me. That summer, after my freshman year, at campmeeting, God really moved, especially among the young people. One night God's Spirit moved as Rev. Paul King preached. I didn't go the the altar then, but later a wonderful layman from that district sat down beside me and tenderly showed his concern for my soul. I melted on the inside and God saved me that night. I had my struggles during the next couple of years, but never again went back to the old rebellious attitudes and life. During my senior year of high school, God took me deeper in my spiritual life then I'd ever gone. He began changing me and gave me a wonderful desire to serve him regardless of what my friends did. About 8 years later at a camp in the Northwest, God showed me my heart was not pure. He helped me consecrate and give my heart and life wholly to Him. There have been rough places, dark times, lonely times, and times when we didn't understand, but never one time did I ever lose my desire to serve Him more and more. My favorite song is "Living for Jesus". The chorus says "help me to serve thee o'er and o'er, help me to praise thee more and more, live in thy presence day by day, never to turn from thee away." That is my testimony" - B. Batton
